Hearing Loss Association of Albany (HLAA) is a volunteer, nonprofit organization of persons with hearing loss, their friends, families, and other concerned individuals. Formerly known as Hearing Endeavor for the Albany Region (HEAR), we are a chapter of the national organization Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA)- where people learn to help themselves to get past the obstacles of hearing loss and open the doors of communication.

The Hearing Loss Association of Albany was instrumental in implementing a model program for hearing accessibility in hospitals called the Hearing Access 2000 program. A communication tips poster that was part of this program is included on this site. Today, we continue to meet for social activities and informative meetings at hospitals, libraries, churches, and offices throughout the capital district. The public is invited to these events. For more information about our informative newsletter for a trial period, either write or e-mail us at the addresses noted above. We welcome new members. Please join us at one of our events.
